KFYR TV:

Democratic Secretary of State Candidate Kristin Hedger says she`s as North Dakota as the Badlands and the Little Missouri River. Hedger rejects Republican allegations that her residency is in question.

“I vote in North Dakota. I pay taxes in North Dakota,” says Hedger. “My driver`s license is from North Dakota. I have a letter from the North Dakota Tax Commissioner that states, that`s verifying that my tax returns on file in North Dakota from 2005, 2004, 2003, and the years 2002, 2001, 2000 and even `99. I completed a W2 tax exemption for North Dakota withholding as many college, North Dakota college students do.”

But wait a minute, wasn’t she the one that brought it up in the first place?

The Dickinson Press - Jaeger’s challenger in the upcoming general election is Democrat Kristin Hedger. Hedger said in a Saturday story by The Press if she were the secretary of state, she would have more closely researched her own qualifications to run for the office.

So she brought it up, but is no accusing the Republicans for actually asking IF she is eligible to run.  What are they supposed to do.  Since she brought it up you’d think she’d be willing to discuss the issue with the public, but Rob tried and she wouldn’t take the call.

Update: I called in with a question (the number is 701-222-6539) about Hedger’s comments to the media questioning her own eligibility. I was told by the call screener that they could not address questions to one candidate specifically because it could be seen as an “attack” on that candidate.

Anyway I know what I think about her, but it’s up to you to decide for yourself.
