Bolivia’s “elected” leader Evo Morales (who is essentially a puppet for Hugo Chavez) appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and got a loving reception from both Stewart and his audience.  The most sickening part being when Morales talks about the government seizing control of private businesses...and the crowd cheering.

Evo brought communism to Bolivia.  Che didn’t, so I guess that makes Evo even better than Che.

I, personally, can’t ever understand why so many people are happy when they hear capitalism get trashed.  What’s so bad about the freedom to start your own business?  What’s so bad about the freedom to make as much money as you can without having what you earn redistributed to those who won’t work as hard as you do?

Thugs like Morales talk about the “capitalist system” as though it were an actual system being run by a goon squad of corporate interests, but really that’s not what capitalism is at all.  The “capitalist system” is simply the freedom invest capital (be it money, assets or even the proverbial “sweat of your brow") in money-making ventures with no limits on how much you can make or rules, outside of taxes, saying you have to share that wealth with anyone else.  “Capitalism” is the natural order of an economy, or what happens when people are free to exchange goods and services among themselves.

It is freedom, put simply, and the fact that controlling thugs like Morales and the class-envious dupes that follow people like him don’t like it is hardly surprising.
