Good grief...

“I urge the President to immediately appoint a senior official to conduct a full review of his Administration’s failed North Korea policy, develop recommendations to change course, and directly communicate to the North Koreans the consequences of their actions and the Administration’s new course. On North Korea as in other national security policies, the Bush Administration and the Republican-controlled Congress have made America less secure. It is time for a new direction.”

While we’re at it why don’t we travel back in time and stop Bill Clinton and Madeline Albright from getting fooled by North Korea into believing that the country had halted its uranium enrichment activity.

At a time when this country faces serious threats all over the globe, from the middle east to Asia, it seems as though only the Republicans are interested dealing with the problems.  The Democrats are far too busy playing the “get Bush/Republicans” game.

Update: Of course, it’s not like the Bush administration’s hands are clean on this either (via Mike Adamson in the comments):

In releasing the funding, President George W Bush waived the Framework’s requirement that North Korea allow inspectors to ensure it has not hidden away any weapons-grade plutonium from the original reactors.

But still, Harry Reid’s knee-jerk attempt to blame it all on President Bush is just plain silly.
