Mookie Al Sadr has once again agreed to a truce with the Iraqi government. That’s nice.

But it happpens every time he and his so called “Mahdi army” start getting pounded by either us, the Iraqi Army, or both. He offers up a truce and we accept. He takes the opportunity to rearm and reorganize. And a few months later he starts up all over again when he thinks he’d dealing from a position of strength.

So....here we go again......

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq’s government has agreed a truce with the movement of Shi’ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr to end weeks of fighting in an eastern Baghdad slum between Shi’ite militia and security forces, a Sadr spokesman said on Saturday.

If confirmed, the ceasefire could end violence that has killed several hundred people, trapped the 2 million residents of Sadr City in a battle zone and prompted aid workers to warn of a humanitarian crisis.

It’s just like Lucy and the football. I promise, this time, to hold it right there, Charlie Brown. Really. Honest.
