Is it fifty million like the left claims or does the problem amount to only 8.2 million:
However, the Census Bureau report “Income, Poverty, and Health Insurance Coverage in the United States: 2005,” puts the initial number of uninsured people living in the country at 46.577 million.
A closer look at that report reveals the Census data include 9.487 million people who are “not a citizen.” Subtracting the 10 million non-Americans, the number of uninsured Americans falls to roughly 37 million.
Government statistics also show 45 percent of those without insurance will have insurance again within four months after job transitions.
Accounting for all those factors, one prominent study places the total for the long-term uninsured as low as 8.2 million – a very different reality than the media and national health care advocates claim.
Why would we allow the government to take over the entire health care system and allow them to dictate our lifestyle because of 2.7% of the people? The solution should be had by examining why those 8.2 million people don’t have insurance and deciding what (if anything) should be done about it.
I find it very striking that there are nearly 10 million illegal aliens (who knows, it could be more) here that don’t have health insurance. No wonder why the liberals love them because they help promote the crisis. I don’t know why anyone would want to leave the socialist utopia that is Mexico.
Maybe we could ask the government to at least ask for insurance cards when they cross the border OR at least bill the government of Mexico for their emergency room visits.
