Stick a fork in her. She’s done.

Obama stomped her in North Carolina yesterday by a whopping 220,000 votes. There is no way she can catch up now, either in delegates or in the popular vote. Plus, you’ll start to see a lemming-like horde of the super delegates heading to Obama’s flag.

So....what now? Will she make nice and hand the remaining five or six primaries to Obama “for the good of the party”? Or will she slug it out and hope to sway the super delegates somehow?

Personally, I think she’ll try to deal her way into a VP spot by giving it up soon and throwing everything she has behind Obama. She can’t win now barring a miracle or some seriously dirty tricks. The numbers just aren’t there. “Vice President Hillary Rodham Clinton” is probably starting to sound good to her about this time. But I could be wrong. She may still fight even as her ship sinks around her.

We’ll know soon. I’ve enjoyed watching the Dems eat their own, but if Hillary is as smart as I think she is, that may soon be over. She’ll back Obama.
