Why, gulf coast casinos and resorts of course.  Doesn’t that make you glad that, post-Katrina, all of our political leaders tried to out do one another by being involved with sending the most “relief” money instead of sitting down and figuring out what was actually needed?

By the way, there are still 30,000 or so people living in FEMA trailers two years post-hurricane.

Two years.

What kind of a person sits around and waits for the government to come and rescue them for that long?  Also, how much of that sitting around is the result government creating dependence with promises of help?

Perhaps if these people were told that, outside of immediate emergency assistance, they were on their own it would have provided the impetus needed for them to put their own lives back together.  Unless we are to believe that these mostly black refugees aren’t capable of helping themselves.

Which isn’t something that I, personally, buy into what with my not being a racist.
