The Hill has an article today about the GOP's difficulties with Senate campaigns this election cycle. North Dakota is mentioned, as it has been before by the media, as a place where Republicans are having a difficult time finding someone to run against incumbent Senator Kent Conrad.

I can't speak for races in other parts of the country, but I've heard through the grapevine that one of the major difficulties the NDGOP is having with finding a candidate to run against Conrad is that none of the people who would be qualified candidates really want to move away from North Dakota to live in Washington D.C. year round.

Apparently, unlike Senator Conrad, most North Dakota Republicans actually like living in the state and raising their families here.

To be honest with you, I'm not sure I can blame them. I wouldn't want to live in D.C. either. Of course, I don't know if that's 100% true or not, but it makes sense to me.
