Much like attacking his citizenship, I’m not sure attacking McCain’s POW ordeal or his honorable service to this country in the military is a wise thing.

Aside from being stupid and juvenile, it only serves to generate sympathy for the candidate and dislike for those behind the attacks.  America loves and honors its war heroes, and like it or not McCain falls into that category.  That certainly doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of reasons why he’d make a bad President (this conservative still isn’t voting for him), but it does mean that attacking his service to this country is likely to backfire.
