A couple weeks before Christmas the system board in my Dell notebook had problems.  Of course it manifested itself as a bad wireless network card.  Only after messing around with that problem for a while did we come to the conclusion that the motherboard was bad.

I sent the computer into Dell (it’s still under the three-year warranty.) I have to say that Dell was terrific.  They replaced the system board as well as the keyboard and even the palm rests.  I got my computer back the day after Christmas.

At this time I decided to upgrade to a 100 gig hard drive.  I’ve got the hardware but I was hoping the computer nerd in our family would help me with transferring my data to the new hard drive. 

Now the hard drive on our home computer is going going......  Right now I’m trying to backup all of our crucial data (mostly pictures and video’s) onto my external hard drive. 

Now we’re going to have to share computers again while I muddle through getting a new hard drive put into the home computer.  Meanwhile for the rest of the week I’m committed to spend a lot of time filling in for Rob.
