A rather startling revelation in a story about some French terrorists getting convicted.
A new trial of the six men was ordered after Judge Jean-Claude Kross refused to hand down a verdict last year and instead requested information on secret interrogations led by French agents at Guantanamo.
The defence had argued that information obtained during the questioning at Guantanamo was inadmissible in court but the judge overruled the lawyers’ objections during the re-trial this month.
I wasn’t aware that foreign agents had been allowed to interrogate detainees at Guantanamo Bay.
It would seem as though, while Europe’s political and intellectual elite were busy castigating America for Guantanamo Bay, that continent’s agents have been taking full advantage of the detention center to keep said political and intellectual elite safe from terrorism.
Or, at least, agents from France have anyway. But if the Frenchies have been in, certainly other nations have had the opportunity as well, right?
