My daughter holding a “poor man’s tommy gun.”
It’s a Volunteer Enterprises (changed its name to Commando Arms in the 1970’s) Mark III .45 semi-automatic rifle (serial number 18064) with a 30 round clip.
Its in decent shape. My wife’s grandfather bought it off of someone else. I think it’s probably in working condition. The action still moves smoothly and the clip is in good shape. The only thing I’m worried about is that it looks like someone might have done a home repair to the exterior plate behind the action. It probably needs to see a gunsmith before being fired.
I actually don’t know much about Volunteer Enterprises/Commando Arms. I know this is pretty much just a Thompson knock off, but can anyone out there fill me in on some more details about the company and gun?
