First they came for the automatics, than all handguns, then shotguns....

Shops should be banned from selling imitation samurai swords, the government has said.

The Home Office said the weapons had been used in about 80 serious attacks in England and Wales since 2003 and it wants to target their distribution.

People who carry the cheaply priced swords in public can already be charged with possessing an offensive weapon.

Genuine samurai swords used in ceremonial martial arts display or sought by collectors would be exempt.

The British government is doing what they did to eventually ban privately owned firearms.  I have a hard time believing that the only swords in England are Samurai style.  But if they were to ban all swords then there would be political resistance.  There must be a million or so European style swords hanging on walls in England, but they aren’t coming for those, yet.

This goes to show that the left is relentless.  First they say that they must institute gun registration for a reason (in England it was because of the Bolsheviks which I find ironic).  Then they make things tougher for law abiding people to obtain the guns.  The more they make it harder for an honest person to defend themselves the more they empower the criminals.  So when their first limited gun restrictions causes more crime they insist that they need more gun restrictions to fight crime.  Of course crime gets worse and worse and the left can’t admit that they are wrong.  Now that they confiscated every gun that they can they are going after swords.

Meanwhile the crime rate in Jolly Old England has become worse than in the US.
