That’s the story, but using common sense I deduce that a more accurate way to put that would be “Dick Cheney pushed to erase exaggerations of climate change consequences from testimony.”

Because that’s probably what this was about.  The government climate change nuts wanted to testify about doom, gloom and apocalypse and the Vice President wanted to rein that in to something a bit more connected to reality.

On a related note, you notice how the global warming disciples have been working to change the name of their movement from a “global warming” crisis to a “climate change” crisis?  Sort of how the left has been working to change their label from “liberals” to “progressives.”

Good marketing, I suppose, especially given how inconvenient all those photos of “global warming” activists protesting in the snow have been.
