Sure. Why would we want to limit a count of American citizens to actual citizens? Especially when counting illegal immigrants would mean more political representation for traditionally liberal districts?
WASHINGTON – Senate Democrats have blocked a GOP attempt to require next year’s census forms to ask people whether they are a U.S. citizen.
The proposal by Louisiana Republican Sen. David Vitter was aimed at excluding immigrants from the population totals that are used to figure the number of congressional representatives for each state. Critics said Vitter’s plan would discourage immigrants from responding to the census and would be hugely expensive.
This isn’t about excluding immigrants. This is about excluding illegal immigrants. And illegal immigrants should, in fact, be discouraged from responding to the census.
And what makes asking that question so expensive? You ask them to prove their citizens. If they aren’t citizens you wrap up the interview and move on.
This isn’t about inclusiveness. This is about robbing political power from traditionally conservative areas and giving it to more liberal areas.
It’s as bad as vote fraud, if you ask me.
