Teen unemployment up!

The increase in the unemployment rate to 5.7 percent, from 5.5 percent in June, in part came as many young people streamed into the labor market looking for summer jobs. This year, fewer of them were able to find work, the government said. The unemployment rate for teenagers jumped to 20.3 percent, the highest since late 1992.

Congress has increased the minimum wage from $5.15 to $6.55 an hour in a years time.  That’s an increase of 27%.

Now ask yourself, if the price of arugula jumps up 27% are you going to try to do without it, if you can?  Of course you are.

I find it interesting that the article notes that the unemployment rate for teenagers was the highest since late 1992....right after George H. W. Bush and the Democrat congress raised it.
