I've been checking out CNN's new internet video service, something a CNN insider alluded to back in this post about a similar service which is to be offered by CBS some time in the future.

Its pretty cool, but still not exactly anything new. Its just expanded access to something that was sort of already available. And they're planning on charging for it some time in the future, but I don't foresee too many people be willing to pay for it. Maybe if they did some things to improve it, like offer links to the video via RSS feeds for different categories. That would certainly make it more useful.

I still think there'd be a lot of interest among internet newshounds for a live internet feed of CNN's (or Fox or any other network news channel's) normal television broadcast. Maybe its cost prohibitive to stream all that video, but I think they'd get a lot of viewers, which would mean a lot more people watching the commercials between segments.
