Is CNN the Obama News Network?
NEW YORK (AP) — CNN’s John Roberts declared his interview with Barack Obama on Monday a “Rev. Wright-free zone” to telegraph he wouldn’t ask the Democratic presidential contender about the controversy over his former pastor. . . .
Roberts said it was clear that nothing new had been said about the issue for a week, and that many of his viewers believed it was time for CNN to move on.
“Rather than spend one second of time on an issue that isn’t really relevant to people because there’s been no news on it, I thought I’d spend the time talking to these candidates about issues that really matter to people,” he said.
Don’t you just love it when arrogant media types start telling us what sort of news we will and won’t be interested in?
As for the Wright issue not really mattering to people, who is Roberts trying to kid? Multiple polls have shown Obama sinking because of Wright. Since the Wright controversy became public Hillary has been taking over in national polls, but we’re supposed to believe that Wright doesn’t matter because some liberal CNN news anchor says so?
Please. Roberts doesn’t want Wright to matter because Wright is devastating to Obama’s campaign. And this is the attitude of the media in general. The voters care about Obama’s associations with Wright, but the journalists want to change the subject because that’s inconvenient for the man they’re trying to anoint as President.
