I just received word that Bismarck Tribune opinion editor Stephen Eastin, who was afflicted with Parkinson’s disease, killed himself over the weekend.

I didn’t know Eastin personally, but by reputation I knew him as a fair-minded guy who a lot of people I respect respected.

This is sad news, and a great loss of North Dakota.
