A church in the Fargo/Moorhead area wants to increase the capacity in their homeless shelter, but they can’t do it until they get some bureaucrats to rubber stamp the expansion.

The Moorhead Planning Commission will meet at 5 p.m. tonight in Moorhead City Hall to discuss a homeless shelter’s request to increase its capacity.

Churches United for the Homeless, 1901 1st Ave. N., wants to raise its occupancy from 58 to 65 beds.

Why do we need a planning commission to determine whether or not a church can help more people in need?

This is government for government’s sake.  An unnecessary burden people who just want to help must bear.  I wonder how many people have gone without help because those who would help them got tied up in government red tape?
