A scant three and a half months after more than 300 bombs exploded in Bangladesh, CNN reports that there have been arrests in bombings from earlier this week:
(CNN) -- Police have detained a total of 97 people over two days in connection with three bombings earlier this week in Bangladesh, which killed 14 people.
This marks an apparent rise in the sophistication and leathality of the attacks in Bangladesh. CNN also reports there were a couple of unsuccessful attacks:
Also, the mayor of the city of Sylhet, about 192 kilometers (120 miles) northwest of Dhaka, escaped assassination Friday night after two grenades thrown at him failed to explode, authorities said. And a bomb was discovered at a school east of Dhaka.
As was the case with the August bombings, this story is just barely on the radar of the mainstream American press.
