I, like many of you I’m assuming, am more than a little weary of the wall-to-wall coverage of the Anna Nicole Smith thing.  That being said, I couldn’t help but absolutely stunned and appalled at this video of a stoned-out-of-her-gourd and apparently 8 months pregnant Anna being questioned by her creepy paramour Howard K. Stern?

The video aired on Greta Van Susteren’s show last night.

Stern talking about how much money the video is worth is just icing on the cake.

I’m all about personal responsibility, and Smith is a monster for the self-indulgent and totally reckless way she lived her life as a mother (the half dozen men who have come forward to claim her child as theirs has to be some sort of record), but I can’t help but feel a bit sorry for her.  With enablers and exploiters like Stern around her it’s little wonder her life spun out of control.

And yet, somehow this Stern guy has the gall to petition the court for custody if Smith’s child.  The same baby that was inside Smith while Stern joked about her drug use.

By the way, I hope you pro-choice folks out there who are shocked at Smith’s drug use while eight months pregnant utilize this media fiasco as a time to re-evaluate your position on abortion.  If an unborn child really is just tissue that is part of a mother’s body then what Smith is doing in the video above is no worse than a non-pregnant person getting a little loaded.
