Its like an eerie coincidence:
Two Beauregard Parish motorists were accidentally shot in the face on Saturday by a quail hunter near Dry Creek.
A group of three men were hunting quail southeast of Dry Creek around 4 p.m. Saturday when a pickup truck with two men inside stopped to watch the hunters' birding dogs.
A bird flushed out of the brush and flew toward the truck. One of the hunters swung around and shot at the bird, hitting both driver and passenger with pellets through the truck's open window.
The two injured men, who were not identified by the Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office, drove themselves to a Kinder hospital. The driver, who is from DeRidder, was hit with two pellets in the face. The passenger, who is from Kinder, was hit by three pellets in the face.
Our only explanation? Karl Rove is trying to deflect attention from Cheney's attempt to remove Plame from the front pages with a well-timed spurt of bird shot, Suge Knight-style, in Louisiana. The location gives it a little panache--distracting the local media from the Katrina damage.
Or something like that.
