Awesome clip from Hannity’s America:

Newshounds criticizes:

Hannity used records of Gore’s 16 private jet flights during the 1999-2000 campaign season, claiming that those trips show the former Vice President to be a hypocrite. In a disclaimer later in the piece, Hannity admitted that Gore’s office responded that the former Vice President had purchased carbon offsets for the trips, thereby maintaining the carbon neutrality of the jet fuel consumption. Hannity did not let this disclaimer deter him from making all kinds of specious linkages, false analogies and non sequiturs in his report.

Personally, I don’t buy the carbon offsets excuse.  That still smacks of liberal elitism.

Oh, sure, Al Gore and the rest of the thoroughly moneyed can still jet-set around the world because they can afford to buy carbon offsets.  The rest of us plebes?  In Gore’s America we’d all be stuck riding buses and such.  Unless, of course, we were rich like Al and could afford a nice carbon offset so we could drive an SUV or something.

As far as I’m concerned, someone is going to have to prove to me that global warming is being caused more by human carbon emissions than cow farts before I’ll be willing to purchase a carbon offset just so I can drive my Yukon to work.
