Just yesterday I posted on news that the North Dakota chapter of Americans for Prosperity was pulling out. You’ll remember that AFP was the group formerly directed in the state by House candidate Duane Sand, and the one behind ballot measure 2 (the 50% cut in state income taxes for all individuals). The news I got also indicated that AFP was pulling out of eight other states.
Today I got a call from some folks at AFP who said that they aren’t actually pulling out. They’re going to have some staff turn over in the state-level chapters (something they’ll apparently be finalizing at a board meeting later this week), but all of them will remain open and AFP will remain a force for fiscal conservatism in all the places it has been in the past.
Which is happy news. AFP is a great group (despite attempts by liberal politicians and editorial boards to paint them as extremists) and will hopefully be a player in statewide issues going forward.
