March 23, 2006 — Over the last 24 hours, ABC News has been reading hundreds of messages sent in by viewers in response to President Bush's claim that the media are undermining support for war in Iraq.
Viewer opinions ran the gamut, but the vast majority believed the media were biased in their Iraq coverage.
Of course, the big question is this: Will the media listen to the complaints of its viewers or continue to ignore them?
The media seems so disconnected from their viewers. After the 2004 election the puzzlement among media-types over Bush's victory was palpable. You could almost hear them asking why Americans re-elected a guy that "everybody" hates.
I honestly believe that if the President were to run for a third term based on the economy's performance thanks to his tax cuts and our accomplishments in Iraq that the American people would elect him again and, again, leave the media and leftists scratching their heads.
