Obama’s nominee for the head of the National Intelligence Council, the very controversial Chas Freeman, has withdrawn his nomination.

I’d tell you how many flopped nominations that makes for Obama, but at this point I’ve lost count.

Also, today is day 50 for Obama’s first 100 days in office.  Let’s sum up what he’s accomplished so far.

* A massive expansion of government health care entitlements that will add billions in tax burdens.

* The single largest spending bill this country has ever seen, done in the name of “economic stimulus” and passed without adhering to any of the promises for transparency and accountability Obama made during the campaign.

* A plunging stock market that seems to accelerate downward every time Obama or one of his administration opens their mouth about the economy.

* The promise of another mass “stimulus” spending bill that this country can’t really afford but is, we’re told, needed because the first one didn’t do enough.

* A spending bill chock full of the sort of pork Obama said he wouldn’t sign into law but has promised to sign into law anyway now that he’s in office.

* A state visit from a friendly, long-term ally that left Obama’s administration “overwhelmed.”

* So many failed nominations that the whole spectacle is beginning to reach the point of self-parody.

Hope and chance!
