The Grand Forks Herald has a blog for its editorial staff called Northscope. I like the idea. Even though the posts are sometimes days apart they've kind of got a vibe like The National Review's The Corner blog.

What I don't like, though, is their comment moderation. I've posted a few comments, but they've taken 24 - 48 hours before they even appear. I understand that they want to maintain control of what is published on their blog, but what's the point of even having comments if you aren't going to publish them in a timely fashion?

If they want the public to take the blog seriously (and they must or else they wouldn't have gone through the trouble of creating it) then they should take it more seriously. Because it really is a good idea, if they do it right.
