Regular readers here are probably well aware of the fact that my individual post archives have been taking forever to load leaving this site effectively down. I've done some tweaking to the templates and the individual pages should be loading quite a bit faster, though you will notice that the header and the sidebars aren't loading.
Apparently those PHP includes are what was causing the problem in the archives. Not sure why that was, or even why they're not slowing things down on the main page which continues to load fine, if a bit sluggishly. If Powweb hosting ever gets around to addressing my problem (72 hours and counting) I'll restore everything to normal.
Email me if you're noticing any other irregularities.
Update:
So much for the fix. I just got an email from Powweb support saying "Hey, it looks like your problem is fixed. Thanks for contacting Powweb support," and then they closed my ticket I had been waiting 72+ hours for a reply to. So I restored the templates back to the way they were so that Powweb can see where the freaking problem is.
Hopefully a fix will be in place soon.
Update 2:
Well it looks like the page is finally fixed and loading correctly. It ain't perfect, but it works. I owe absolutely no thanks what-so-ever to Powweb. Their server shift (something they initiated without so much as a warning to me) caused this problem and then they didn't even lift a finger to help me.
The only reason its even working now is because the King of Fools is such a nice and tolerant man. Seriously, the poor guy is probably sick of hearing from me by now.
But anyway, everything should be working once again. Email me if there's problems.
