Big-government, grab-the-guns loudmouths are still referring to North Dakota’s “Stand Your Ground” bill as the “shoot first” bill, and worse.  As though the legislation gave every citizen the right to shoot first and ask questions later.  Among some of the more ludicrous claims are the idea that this bill would allow you to shoot children who walk through your yard on their way home from school, or shoot your son who maybe makes a bit too much noise on his way in to the house late at night.

Obviously, these people have only a slight grip on reality.

I’ve explained previously, at length, how this bill still requires you to meet the already established prerequisites for legal deadly self defense, but that apparently isn’t getting through to the shrill, wild-eyed critics of this bill.

So, in the interest of clearing all this up, here’s a simple challenge to people who don’t like the bill: If the consequences of passing this thing are so dire, why hasn’t all hell broken loose in places like Alaska and Florida that have already passed versions of it?
