’I love http://www.fark.com - oops, I just gave away my favorite news source. They beat Drudge in the no-slanted free-for-all postings’
And ya gotta love the hooties!
Did the MSM exaggerate the death toll and and level of depravity because they thought it was bad for Bush or was it just an honest mistake? Well like many especially Ann Coulter have noted, all these mistakes incredibly tilt the same way.

Unfortunately, politics is like beauty - all relative. Next to a hottie, an average looking woman is below average. Next to Helen Thomas, anyone looks good!
When people say the MSM is conservative, what they mean is that it isn’t liberal enough.
And let’s note that Fox News Channel is not middle of the road - they are definitely conservative. When I hear ‘Fair and Balanced’ I think they mean that their presence on the opposite side of the teeter totter helps make it more so. They usually provide point/counter-point liberal conservative (actually conservative/liberal), but it is usually a mismatch (i.e. Hannity & Colmes). But that is much better than no counterpoint at all, which predominates the MSM.
The opposite is true for talk radio - Rush Limbaugh ushered in a new era of counterbalance in the 90’s - and his success would not have been possible without the huge disparity that existed in the MSM. But now it is saturated with the conservative viewpoint. Anyone who thinks Rush Limbaugh is not biased has him standing next to Helen Thomas.
And to come full circle, Sports by Brooks YEAH!!!!!

Obviously Rush is a conservative, but he makes no bones about it. What’s unfair about that.
And when he states a fact it’s correct. You can disagree with his opinions but that’s it.
I never said Rush’s presence in unfair. But I note that he is AS biased as the mainstream media. “The opposite is true” indicates that the MSM tilts to the left, with the exception of talk radio.
I appreciate what Rush has brought to the media. And like you say, he does not deny his bias, like others in the media who claim they have no bias. Rush was the first to take advantage of the huge public eye that modern technology has provided us, and I commend him for that. There is a reason he has over 20 million listeners.
The crux of my point is that if he is your only source of information (and obviously it is not, you are here) then you only have half of the story, just like if your only source of news is the big three (CBS, NBC, ABC).
My father gave me a book called “How to Lie with Statistics” - I think Rush has read it too. Not lies, but definitely misrepresentations. There are ways to skew statistics and omit data that can be unfavorable to one’s point.
ICM - in answer to your question, yes and I doubt it. They know they have blinders on, but they feel they are justified in wearing them.

Sorry - gotta disagree - it’s the elitist hubris that they’re right and everybody else is stupid. To the MSM there are 2 sides to every story their side and the wrong side.

Yes and No - but I will give you props for identifying that bias is indeed prevalent - not all of the people behind the scenes, but some - and usually they pull the strings.
Might have mentioned this before - overheard in a major media newsroom by an editor after Kerry conceded to Bush:
“I can’t believe our people in Ohio gave up so easily!”

Found the post about cannibalism - it was “corrected” but the tone is the same. Gee, the huffington post - whoda thunk it?
