The only way we could defend the homeland without going on the offensive is to become a police state. This would fit perfectly with the Left’s vision for America. They want the ability to engineer every aspect of society, and by having a population in constant fear, their goals become that much closer.
The Left would rather wage war on those they see as causing conflict with the Islamists (i.e. corporations and neo-conservatives), so they can have their little socialist utopia. What they don’t understand is that the Islamic terrorist is not going to spare Sheehan and her ilk from their bombs just because the anti-war lunatics worship the pre-capitalist societies of the Middle East..
I guess there are still quite a few true believers out there.
