No.  Soldiers don’t need unions.  A union is an entity that someone pays to hopefully speak for them.  Soldiers already have groups to lobby for them (such as the VFW, AMVETS, etc.).  Those lobby groups are awesome, because not only do they provide their services free of charge to Troops, but they also often give troops things (meals, beer, care packages).  Unions are big business.  Soldiers don’t need unions.

Exactly who is pushing this? What is their Party affiliation? Who gave them the position from which they are doing this?

And for the record, when I re-upped in ‘84 I did not take a bonus. And I volunteered to return to an active combat zone.
