His report is just like thousands like them.  The NYT is biased.  After a while, you can not talk to certain people.   They know what they know and their brains are stuck on:  Parent, not Adult.

"Every heart beats true under red white and blue annd there’s never a boast or  a brag", plays softly  in thr background as  Major Kevin Kelly narrates his patriots dream of Iraq.

The Major’s Mom (what is greater than an American Mother) sends him Tastykakes to distribute to a plucky troop. The brave soldier laughs at the consternation  of an Iraqi sniper seeing a Coke can explode as his bullet misses the brave troops head and only goes through his hand. We can take it.

2 Nice product placements.

The music gets louder "The emblem of the Flag I love" as Major Kevin describes the  precision of the ceremony

of placing the casket of  a fallen hero aboard the aircraft taking him on his final trip home. "The home of the free and the brave" 

If you can not recognize the Majors screed as pure agitprop, I have to wonder how you get home in possesion of your pants.
