High oil prices are a drain on consumers and industry , a transfer of US wealth overseas.

Oil prices are down, stupid. Gasoline prices are down, stupid. Any part of this you don’t understand, stupid? The rise in Natural Gas prices is tied directly to enviro-regs and taxes. Who is it that is unwilling to help the poor heat their homes? How is it corporations are evil? They are not the ones garnering obscene profits. That would be the government.

Absolutely, high oil prices will make it possible for companies to reopen old fields, open new fields and explore for additional reserves.
