More and more it seems that the paranoid radical anti-immigration movement is merely a group of annoying gnats, their hateful rhetoric virtually harmless.
Apparently Ralph has comprehension problems. No wonder he disagrees - he doesn’t even understand the issue and the arguments!
In any regard Ralph, I’m going to spell it out for you - we are anti illegal immigration. Did you miss that big boy? Here,..I’ll bolden and capitalize the important word just for you chief - anti ILLEGAL immigration.
You may now carry on with your ignorant synopsis of topics that in no way describe the parent article.

It’s good to see US businesses finally realizing that these people are people. More and more it seems that the paranoid radical anti-immigration movement is merely a group of annoying gnats, their hateful rhetoric virtually harmless.

I’m all for American businesses going out of their way to help immigrants. Immigration is good for this country. Its what has made America great.
Illegal immigration, however, is another matter entirely. I don’t like to see American businesses adding incentive for foreigners to break out immigration and border security laws.
But hey, if its easier for you to label us all racists rather than, you know, actually discuss the points of the issue then feel free. You certainly aren’t the first.
"… if its easier for you to label us all racists...”
I never labeled anyone a racist.
Ralph - 02:07am on 07/25/2005
Oh. Sorry. You accused us of “hateful rhetoric.” I assumed you meant racism by that.
My point still applies.
Rob - 05:07pm on 07/26/2005
Actually, the hateful rhetoric remark was made with respect to the paranoid radical anti-immigration movement. If you understood that to be a comment about you personally, then you must consider yourself to be a paranoid radical anti-immigratin fanatic. Most people in that movement are in denial and resist being called paranoid radicals. The fact that you acknowledge that indicates good mental health.

Showing a little respect for law and order doesn’t make one paranoid or anti-immigration, Ralph. NOT showing it makes you a menace to society however… I happen to love immigrants. But those who would disrespect our laws and illegally penetrate our borders (and those who would not enforce the laws protecting our borders) are a menace to our society.

Good point. Showing respect for the law does not render one paranoid, anti-immigrant or a monkey. That’s probably why showing respect for the law has absolutely nothing to do with being a paranoid radical anti-immigrant fanatic. Paranoid radical anti-immigrant fanatics are paranoid, radical, anti-immigrant and fanatical. So as you so rightly concluded, merely showing respect for the law does not meet all these characteristics.
Now you have accused me of NOT showing respect for the law. Just this morning, I saw a can of Pepsi in the fridge. It looked good. I was thirsty. But instead of taking it, I went out and bought my own. I didn’t take it because it would be unlawful to take it. Thus, I have shown respect for the law. I have done many other things that show respect for the law.
More and more it seems that the paranoid radical anti-immigration movement is merely a group of annoying gnats, their hateful rhetoric virtually harmless.

Rob:
In case you missed it, there was a page 1, Wall Street Journal article on this trend. See: July 8, 2005: Fight against illegal immigration into U.S. officially lost
Thank you Porkopolis, I hadn’t read that.
