And yes, with every reform we win at the UN, we need to be reminded that John Bolton is instrumental in such action and his nomination was filibustered by the Senate Democrats. Once again, they were wrong…

If you had a car that was literally as badly damaged the UN, it would be totaled and you have to get a another car. From my prospective, the UN is damaged so bad that it needs to be totaled and something else replacing it possibly a confederation of nations (not a one-world tyranny) which in general was what the UN was supposed to be before they tried to become a force of their own. Admittance to the new organization would be on the basis of a ‘freely’ elected government thereby excluding all countries governed by petty dictators and elitists.

I have been called a John Burch-er by many people, well history has proven brother John right. I have had personal expierence with the UN and done a great deal of research on many of their programs. There is the possibility of much good that could be done by the UN, it’s downfall is the byzantine bureuacratic maze through which anything they do is dragged. Look at Africa. Billions of tons of food, medicine, and agri equipment have poured into countries there. Why are people dying by the thousands from starvation and disease. Look at last years tsunami. If not for the US,British, and Australian Navies thousands more would have died. What was the first response of the UN crowd, they ridiculed us for sending Aircraft carriers. A ship that processes 500,000 gallons of potable water every 24hrs, has a complete hospital with full surgical facilities, and is a F***ing AIRPORT. Members of the UN called this imperialist aggression at one end of the spectrum, flashy showmanship at the other. And several governments in the affected regions, under UN leadership, have effectively dropped the ball. Allowing thousands of tons of materiel and food to rot on airstrips and railheads. Sorry, gang until these reforms are actually in place and working for 5 years I don’t believe they will ever happen. We have done this song and dance before, and it got no one anywhere. Most especially those who need help urgently. Like the people of Sudan and Zimbabwe. Sorry. Thus endeth the sermon. Promised Wifey I would not do this today, don’t tell her. OK?

2H, I think you just proved my point. The UN in unreformable and wouldn’t have to be reformed in the first place if it wasn’t so corrupt. I mean what can you say about an organization that places a terrorist nation run by a dictator as the head of a human rights commission. It the UN was a cancerous growth you wouldn’t have any problem with its removal, would you?

No argument here. I have been advocating shutting to whole thing down for years. It just does not look like it is going to happen anytime soon.

Ha! Ed, I think you’re suffering from a severe case of HBS (Hate Bush Syndrome). I mean, just look at your 15 2006 predictions… They’re all rather benign and normal except for when you mention Bush:
George Bush will resign in disgrace and fucking Cheney will go with him.
When your vocabulary turns vulgar and your logic turns off (as in your comment in this thread) every time Bush is mentioned, that’s a sure sign of HBS. You need help....

Not a bad idea. Maybe this should be tried on the Bush administration? Maybe not give them money for bombs to kill people until they can prove they can keep within a budget. Ok, no killing, George, until you can be fiscally responsible and not need China to finance your tax cuts and killin’

We have a defecit, we borrow money. We borrow money from China.

I have no idea what in the world you are talking about here. Do you? If so, why not expand your theory.
Words have no meaning, if nobody has any clue what you’re talking about.

I hardly think criticizing a lousy president qualifies as Bush Hating which people try to tie in with Clinton Hating. People hated Clinton on a more personal basis because he was a smarmy and smart centrist politician. I despise Bush because he borrows money from China to finance tax cuts to the rich and for a multitude of other reasons.
