His overall message was that the black community had to fix itself. And that the gang life was nothing but a ticket to the grave. His tactic to get this message out was later expounded on by DMX. “Look, these young brothers don’t wanna listen to some dude telling em about God, or personal responsibility. So we tell em where we came from. We rap about what they wanna hear. And then once we get em, we’re like ‘listen to this’. And I talk about Jesus. That’s the only way to reach these kids.” While neither man was/is perfect, they are a needed voice, a counter to the nonsense of the “stay black” movement that celebrates illigitimacy, illiteracy, and endless violence in the black community.
Demonizing him is silly.

Making him into some kind of saint is even more silly! I don’t mean to demonize the guy. I just dislike most rap.

I suppose I could have put in the Hagee stuff as well but you know....overkill and all.
Puzzle,
I almost overlooked this remark of yours a second time.
So let’s see here… your guy (?) has the endorsement of the Iranian-backed terrorist organization, Hamas, and you want to talk about Hagee???

Except no one has made him into a Saint, or even pretended he was one. But pointing out that the good that the guy did far outweighed whatever bad he did is important.
Pretending that he is a bad guy is worse than pretending he is a saint because he did more good than harm. The songs that are still played of his on the radio are either his harmless ones (California Love) or his good ones (Keep Your Head Up or on occasion Ghetto Gospel). If we can overlook the liberal background of Reagan, the socialist connections of King, and the facist background of JFK...we can certainly forgive the human failings of Tupac.
