Jesus Aaron, don’t go calling attention to these crappy early posts.  Its embarrassing.  I was pretty much doing the blog version of tapping the microphone as asking: Is this thing on?

Rob - 05:05pm on 05/15/2005

Wow… Rob’s first post… Should go down in history!

Aaron - 05:05pm on 05/15/2005

Wow, Right on, Aaron!  Good find!

It’s not a bad post Robbie!  Nice form and style, with a little humor thrown in.  Good links too.  Shows a certain sophistication about you. wink

Well now I feel compelled to comment if only to say that I read Rob’s first post.

The question remains though: did Rob ever expect any popularity or even count it as a possibility?  He has become a source point of information and a respected voice.  That is quite an achievement in the dog eat dog world of the blogosphere.

I guess part of me thought that if I kept it up long enough and regularly enough that I would develop something of a following.  Never dreamed about the blog being on television or linked by some of the websites that have linked it.  To be honest with you though, I don’t think about popularity that much.  I get excited when I get traffic surges and big links, but what I post is always just stuff that interests me.  Just like its been since the beginning.

In fact, posting has become second nature to me.  Anymore if I hear something interesting or have an interesting thought my mind immediately begins to formulate it into a post.  Which is good because a lot of days I don’t have a lot of time to type posts, so I’ll sit down and bang out four or five posts that I have in my head in about 15 minutes.

He has become a source point of information and a respected voice. That is quite an achievement in the dog eat dog world of the blogosphere.

Well, I don’t know about “respected,” but judging from the comments I sure seem to piss a lot of people off.

Even when you piss them off, they respect your voice enough to often stay around and argue with you.  If they didn’t respect you or thought your voice carried any weight, they wouldn’t engage with you.

Glad to read this and see some sportsfans in the Bismarck areaOK, I’m going to vent my beef!  I am a huge sportsfan, and Bismarck radio really sucks! It’s all Clear Channel stations, which are automated and crappy. We had one sports station for several years called K-FAN, which is piped out of Minneapolis!I have been really bummed listening to such bad sports radio, sometimes they’ll cut off a show and go directly into a game or vice versa! Well, I was cruising between Bismarck and Minot 2 weeks ago, and found a new sports station on KDKT 1410am… Fox Sports Radio! I’ve been hooked since, cause they carry the Jim Rome show live, and do a lot of local, real local sports news… even for Minot! I’m sure now that Fox Sports has come to North Dakota, sports fans will flock from K-FAN and head to 1410. Any thouhts from you locals?

Hey Jamie, glad to have another North Dakotan at Say Anything.

I don’t listen to the radio much.  If I do I usually just try to find an interesting talk show.  Sports radio sort of drives me nuts.

But, if you want to stick around click on "home" at the top of this post and check out some of the other writings.  Might find something you like, or something you hate.

Rob - 05:04am on 04/28/2006

Hey Rob, I’ve been reading your blog off and on… I live in Mandan, so it’s fun to see someone else from the Bismarck area online. I read Jamie’s message about sportsradio in the area, and I really agree!!I can pick up Fox Sports 1410 pretty well during the day, and I love Jim Rome, so your blog turned me on to that… thanks and keep up the good work!

Dan from Mandan - 08:05am on 05/08/2006

Clear Channel owns most of the stations in the Bismarck-Minot area. However, they just sold all of their radio stations in Fargo last month. Rumor is… Bismarck stations are next! Goodbye K-FAN… hello Fox Sports 1410.
