Dave:  You left out the primary reason; deposing Saddam Hussein, which was also humanitarian.

Kis, you say take out religion, but that is what causes these murders. You are arguing from a false dilemma, and I think you know it. These murders, these Islamofacists that beheaded the innocent teenage girls because of their religion are the same as those who decapitated Nick Berg, and countless other innocents in the name of a religion founded on racism and hatred of those who do not subscribe to their (Read: RELIGIOUS) beliefs. These “crazies” are the same people that Michael Moore called “minutemen”. They are the same “patriots” that you and your ilk marched in support of at so many other “peace” rallies, in which you called for these “crazies” to kill American soldiers in the hope that the USA would pull out of Iraq.

Why the sudden shift in opinion, KIS? Are these sadistic murders, or freedom fighters, simply defending their land from Amerikkka?

Don’t worry about answering, Kis. I already know whose side you are on.

I am certainly not. Religion could never convince me to murder a young girl and cut her head off...could it for you? How?

Religion could never convince me to murder a young girl and cut her head off…could it for you? How?

On September 11th, a group of 19 wealthy and relatively well-educated young men (including at least two who received college education in public Western universities) flew their airplanes into the WTC, Pentagon, and the ground, killing themselves along with 3,000 other innocent Americans, all the while screaming “Allah is Great, Allah is Great”.

But it wasn’t just “religion” in general that caused this; it was Islam in particular. (Though, of course, religion is the root from which the weed of Islamic fundamentalism branched.)

Watch out for the Buddhists!

robert108 - 01:10pm on 10/31/2005

yeah, from all accounts those people in the plane were fucked in the head. You know they partied it up the night before right? Very non-muslim thing to do...but we’re digressing…

Didn’t they teach you in first grade not to judge someone by their race, gender, age, religion, etc.? Go ahead, hate muslims...fucking stupids. The only way you would cut a little girl’s head off is if you were seriously fucked in the head by someone to do it or if that girl was gonna kill you, or you’re born with a sick aggressive deformity that we can’t relate to. The religion, just like anybody’s religion or lack of, is an abstract. It, like any abstract, can be used to help or hinder or neither...all the while by SPECIFIC PEOPLE. Most people are born into theirs. Talk to some muslims you idiots, there are a BILLION of them on the planet ya know?

keep it simple - 02:10pm on 10/31/2005

That is worrisome… Check out what they teach the kids in their schools.

Yeah. They also told me that God created the world in 7 days. I don’t believe either.

When I say I’m “judging someone by his/her religion” what I really mean is “I’m predicting future behavior on the basis of current beliefs”. Everyone does that all the time. If you know that Joe is bad at keeping secrets, you won’t tell him your secret. If Jack is self-conscious about his weight, you won’t tell him he’s fat. If Khalid-el Jabaar believes that slaughtering infidels will get him into Heaven, you should fear him.
