I’ve never understood how people can go through twelve years of public education and still end up like Shyone. I’m sure religion has something to do with that, but that can’t be everything.

Maybe public education ISN’T helping.

Let’s compare Rob’s rhetoric to Shyone’s:

ROB: Frankly, the black community would have done well to deny the Nazis the attention they wished to garner with this march. But they didn’t. Instead they chose to play into the very stereotypes the Nazis were using to characterize them. That’s a shame, but now water under the bridge.

If Toledo’s black community wishes to redeem themselves they’d do well to admonish those in their midst responsible for the loutish behavior and move on with a lesson learned.

Blaming a whole race for the actions of a few; saying the protestors played into some kind of “stereotype” (apparently all blacks love to riot?); laying the blame for the riot squarely on the black protestors; forgiving the Nazis for inciting unrest and violence (they didn’t have permits to march) by saying the people living in that community should have just ignored them.

SHYONE: The Neo-Nazi’s weren’t begged nor pleaded with by city officials to leave. They obeyed and did as they were asked. Makes me more Proud to be White.
As for those citizen’s of N Toledo, they were begged, preached too, and even “asked” to just ignore the Nazi’s. Proves that blacks can not and want to not be civilized.

Laying the blame squarely on the black protestors; uses “uncivilized” black stereotype; forgives the Nazis for inciting violence and unrest by saying the people living in that community should have just ignored them; blames a whole race for the actions of a few.

I don’t think Rob is a racist, but I do think this was an very poorly-written post.

Also:

They acquired all the necessary permits and permissions and were by all accounts, up until the time they were accosted by an angry mob, exercising their right to peacefully assemble.

From the story:

Authorities said there was little they could do to stop the group, because they did not apply for a parade permit and instead planned to walk along sidewalks.

“They do have a right to walk on the Toledo sidewalks,” said Mayor Jack Ford, who at one point confronted leaders of the mob and tried to settle them down.

Maybe public education ISN’T helping.

Surely you don’t think they should have MORE “multi-culturalism is good, white men are evil” classes, right?

I watched a live, local TV broadcast fed to a national network for over half an hour showing rioters destroying a building. From the overhead helicopter views one could observe police within 3-4 blocks who did nothing to enforce the law until after the building was set afire.  For this cowardly failure to act, shame on the Toledo police department and the town should compensate the owner in full for the damage to property.

Huh?

Huh?

Was that all?

It was a request to explain why you are “sure” that Shyone’s attitude has something to do with religion?

First, if you read my post again, you’ll see that I didn’t state I was sure that Shyone’s beliefs were the result of Christianity.

Second, are you really going to suggest that there is no connection between Christianity and white supremacism? Because that is, quite frankly, absurd.

EDIT:

I never should have mentioned that frogs or toads thing… I’m sorry if I may have insulted any of my delicious-legged friends…

“Christianity” should be “religion”
