They said that if we didn’t give the illegals drivers’ licenses they’d drive anyway and the roads would be less safe.
An out and out lie. If the illegal alien was willing to break the law to a) get here in the first place and b) drive without a license because none was offered then it is safe to assume that any illegal alien who could not pass a driver’s test will continue to drive without a license.
The illegal immigration activists will never be able to get past the fact that illegal means illegal. And, while I don’t see violating our immigration laws on the same level as murder, someone willing flagrantly break our law in one point is likely to break other laws just as cavalierly. They are not poor, little, innocent people just yearning to make a buck any more than the guy running a three card monte on the street corner.

Applicants for a New Mexico driver’s license who don’t have a Social Security number can present identification such as a tax identification number, a foreign passport or a Matricula Consular issued by the Mexican government.
Isn’t this the same plan Spitzer proposed for New York that Hillary was for and against and for and against all in the same debate?

Preaching to the choir but the three candidates running for president don’t think enforcing the law is important.

New Mexico, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Oregon, Utah and Washington do not require drivers to prove legal status to obtain a license.
Hooray Washington! (/sarcasm). I know I’ve mentioned it before, but the DoL here in the evergreen state will hand out licenses that say “Not Valid for Identification Purposes.”

SS cards say the same thing?
“Not Valid for Identification Purposes.”

Woof,
Besides the fact that there is no photo of the person to whom it was issued, do you know why the Social Security cards are not valid for identification purposes? Hmmm?
