He is one to talk! Threatening to shoot the President of the United States. If anyone else had made that remark, they would have been arrested or put in a mental institution for evaluation.

Guess that just makes Schumer one of the many “reality challenged” people we know of.
Robert Perry - 07:06am on 06/05/2006
Really slick how he casually added ‘owners’ to ‘runners’ and ‘criminals’. Does the anti-2nd Ammendment folks proud, huh?

Cheif & Bob:
Sen. Schumer never made any such remark---you’re confusing him with Alan Hevasi.
Don Myers - 07:06am on 06/05/2006
Don is correct. It wasn’t Schumer who made that remark.

Yes, Hevasi made that remark about Shumer.
robert108 - 09:06am on 06/05/2006
robert108,
That’s true, but we have no reason to believe Schumer knew about the remark ahead of time.

LTM: Never said he did, and in fact, I assumed he didn’t. It does raise some interesting questions, though, about the Dem “brotherhood”. Why did Hevasi pick Shumer? Inquiring minds want to know.

robert108,
What sort of inuendo is that--why did Hevasi pick Schumer? That falls right in line with, “Have you stopped beating your wife yet?”
Maybe he picked Schumer because that’s who he was introducing. Maybe he picked Schumer because he (take your pick) is an idiot. Maybe Hevasi has stupid remarks filed away for use, does it in alphabetical order, and it was the S’s turn.
Dem ‘brotherhood’, my ass.

When it comes to the Second Amendment debate, just remember this:
5 out of 6 dictators agree - an unarmed populace is a happy populace.
