There isn’t a place for my vote Rob.
I vote #2 #3 and #4

That will happen anyway if we don’t open our natural resources to more exploration and production. As I have said before with only a few competitors the gasoline market is inelastic which means that demand is not significantly affected by price increases.

Try this on your poll:
If we do nothing and let Barack Obama win the election, the American people will be:
* Far better off with the government taking care of them, cradle to grave.
* Somewhat better off with fewer guns and open borders.
* Less better off than under a republican president.
* Totally screwed, while we congratulate ourselves on beating McCain.

I agree with you DD, but cap and trade will only make matters worse.
Consider the electricity generating industry. We aren’t short of coal so we shouldn’t see a huge run up in price. (But it’s already going up for some strange reason….)

If McCain wins will get much of the same crap and the party that should be opposing that crap will be destroyed.
By the way I like what McCain says his tax plan is. (Too bad he never supported that kind of thing in the Senate.)
However he isn’t going to get it passed in the upcoming Congress.

I’m a little disheartened to see that the most popular answer so far is “I’ll support any stupidity to keep Obama out of office.”
I can understand going to the polls and voting against Obama. But supporting policies you know are bad?
C’mon. Let’s not be liberals.

Rob: That’s just crap. We don’t have the luxury of infinite choices. It’s McCain or Obama.
Pick one.
Do I like this situation? Hell no! But there is no other choice. Period.

There may be a third way.
The party people could make it clear to McCain that he’s not going to win while pushing this cap and trade crap.
McCain said that some guy took him to a glacier to show him it was receding. He could have another guy take him to a glacier that was growing and recant the extremist position he’s taken.
Of course to do that the blind party followers would have to wake up. Otherwise McCain’s going to look pretty good in the polls, until after the Democrat convention shapes up their situation.
By then it’ll probably be too late.

I understand your rather black and white view of this, but I fail to see why we need to refrain from criticizing McCain’s stupid ideas even if we (and I’m not sure I’m included in that “we”) just want to keep Obama out of office.
