It should actually redirect any of the following devices to the mobile version of you blog automatically when they type in your home URL, no need to change any bookmark or anything.  I thought that was pretty cool.

Devices/browsers that are automatically redirected:
Palm, EudoraWeb,Blazer, AvantGo, Windows CE, Cellphone, Small, MMEF20, Danger, hiptop, Proxinet, Newt, PalmOS, NetFront, SHARP-TQ-GX10, SonyEricsson, SymbianOS, UP.Browser, TS21i-10, BlackBerry.

Yes I got this plug in on my blog a few days ago. It requires no “extra page”, mobile devices automically see the mobile form of the blog. I am in the middle of creating a style sheet for mobile devices because right now the default one is a bit crappy. I would suggest making one like Instapundit does.

- Centered and only taking up a portion of the screen.

When viewing the page on a mobile device, being centered and the width do not matter.  It appears the same from what I’ve seen…

Mobile devices are the next step for e-commerce.  In another decade, you’ll be able to buy anything, anywhere.

BTW, I checked out conservativematch.com, but there seems to be a bug: when I get to the site, there’s a black guy in the picture.

when I get to the site, there’s a black guy in the picture.

Not quite sure what that means… like there are no conservative black people?

Btw, Rob, you need to edit the path in the plugin so that it reads [Site url]/wordpress/wp-mobile.php in both the redirect and the comment form.

Oh! The cheap Tshirts guy, i thought we were on the Conservative match people still.... Yeah, he does look like me actually.  Very similar… but I don’t remember doing a photo shoot for them, so it’s probably not :-D

Anyway, in the actual plugin, below the list of browsers that it will redirect, there is this line:

$URL = $siteurl.’/wp-mobile.php?’;

I believe this is the only line you need to change, and just change it to:

$URL = $siteurl.’/wordpress/wp-mobile.php?’;

Why do you have your blog in a seperate folder instead of in the root? Just set it up that way and never felt like changing it?  Just curious…

Sphagnum - 01:08pm on 08/01/2005

Ah, I see where to change it.

The new host has fantastico, which set it up the way it is.  It works for what I do, so I just never changed it.

I don’t know anything about the conservative match (frankly, boob size is much more important to me than political ideology) but the guy in the t-shirt ad actually kind of looks like Sphagnum.

Anyway…

What do I need to change in the plugin?  It seems to be working fine…
