I get the feeling you could post a cure for cancer has been found, aids has been cured, and all terrorism would end that day and certain people would turn it into a hate rant about George Bush. Don, why don’t you guys get a life? It must be madness to wake up every day feeling the way you do about one individual. By the way, your assertions are absolutely absurd.

Funny a man who hides in a whole to avoid capture does not fear death.
Ha! No shit...good point.

I hope they show it here in the US as well.
I also hope that someday you’ll let go of the idiotic notion that anyone who criticizes the Bush regime and their for-profit war is a pro-Saddam terrorist sympathizer---but I’m not holding my breath.

You must have a hard time focusing on the topic at hand because you always invariably ramble off topic. Also, anybody who is still claiming that this is a “for-profit” war is a straight up unredeemable idiot. So sad that you fall into that category.

Don’s post wasn’t about Bush. Rather, he’s addressing the intellectual laziness of dismissing critics of the administration as sympathizers, “hate America first,” etc. While it fits in with Rove’s “liberals want to treat terrorists with therapy” canard, that type of hyperbole only reveals that the speaker isn’t really interested in discussion or debate.

That is a “canard”? Since when? All I hear is that we have to “understand the root causes” and ask “why do they hate us” like the terrorists are just innocent victims lashing out.

So when’s this thing gonna happen? In May, I thought they said it would be in a couple of months…

Here’s Rove’s statement:
Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers
This statement is simply false, that’s why it’s a canard. Everyone, conservatives and liberals alike, supported military action after 9/11. We all wanted to get the guys who did this to us.
All I hear is that we have to “understand the root causes” and ask “why do they hate us” like the terrorists are just innocent victims lashing out.
If I have a server that’s going down every once in a while, I can set up a monitoring system to page me when it does so that I can restart it. But to truly remove the problem, I need to figure out why the server keeps crashing. The monitoring system will ameliorate the risk, but until I fix the root cause, this server will always be a problem.
The long-term solution to terrorism is not going to be military, but societal in nature. While we’re pursuing military objectives we must also be working on the root cause. This does not exculpate terrorists of their actions. We ignore the causes of extremism and terrorism at our own peril.

Since you don’t (or refuse to) understand the depths of Mr. Rove’s intellectual dishonesty, I’ve decided to spoonfeed it to you by annotating his comment:
“Conservatives saw the savagery of 9-11 in the attacks and prepared for war. Liberals saw the savagery of the 9-11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers. In the wake of 9-11, conservatives believed it was time to unleash the might and power of the United States military against the Taliban. In the wake of 9-11, the liberals believed it was time to submit a petition.”
No need to thank me---but next time, do your own homework, mmmmmkay?
