By the way the job losses we’ve seen in the first quarter are quite modest compared to any true recession.

Those “job losses” were incorrectly reported, as they were actually a decrease in the expected rate of increase.  No actual jobs were lost.

And I’ll bet you even believe all the numbers put out by the government.

Typical leftie propaganda technique; question the numbers, but only during a Republican administration.
Did you believe Clinton’s numbers?

WASHINGTON (AP) - Inflation at the wholesale level soared in March at nearly triple the rate that had been expected as the costs of energy and food both climbed rapidly.

VIENNA, Austria (AP) - Oil prices set yet another intraday trading record Tuesday, surging close to $114 a barrel as the U.S. dollar fell and crude oil shipments along one U.S. pipeline were said to be moving below capacity.

The overall foreclosure rate is 5 percent higher than in February, which saw an unexpected month-to-month decline over January. March marked the 27th consecutive month of year-over-year increases in national foreclosure filings.

An average of 3,960 bankruptcy petitions were filed per day nationwide last month, up 18 percent from January and up 28 percent from a year earlier, according to Automated Access to Court Electronic Records, a bankruptcy data and management company.

But the troubles are quickly spreading to bigger national companies, like Linens ‘n Things, the bedding and furniture retailer with 500 stores in 47 states. It may file for bankruptcy as early as this week, according to people briefed on the matter.

Woof, nobody said things are rosy, what we are saying is that they are no where near as bad as the left is making them out to be.

The economy is flying

More leftie lying; the economy is growing more slowly than we would like.  We are not in a recession.

robert108 - 08:04am on 04/15/2008

Linens n’ Things is losing market share to Bed Bath and Beyond; that’s the way the market works, Master Baiter.  If you knew anything about economics, you would know that.
Despite your manure shoveling, the economy is growing.
Both gasoline prices and food prices are inflated by govt ethanol mandates/subsidies.  It’s the govt, stupid!

robert108 - 08:04am on 04/15/2008

Sure retail sales may be up 3%, but that’s only because gasoline prices are up 25% in the past quarter.

Dumb ass comment of the day.

If people weren’t spending that extra 3% on gasoline, most likely they’d be spending it on other products.  But the point is a) they spent it and b) they had it to spend.

...I’m sure you are lying about Larry Kudlow, as well, but no matter.

Typical Master Baiter cherry-picking to support a lie.
We are not in a recession.  A lie is a lie, no matter who tells it.  Your weak-minded leftie “appeal to authority” is pathetic, as usual.
Note: We are not in a recession.
