Are you really saying that there are not people out there who would not vote for somebody because the are Muslim?
Besides it is a lie.

Hawk,
Are you really saying that there are not people out there who would not vote for somebody because they are Christian?

Probably. But since every President we have ever had has professed to be a Christian, it doesn’t seem like a significant number.
Are you pretending that there is not religious bigotry in this country against Muslims right now. Look at some of the posts on this board. Some posters claim that all Islam is extremism.

Nope! Nor do I much care about it. Discrimination is really a matter of choice… of deciding that this is better than that, something we all do every single day. Such choice is what freedom is all about. There are people who distrust and despise Muslims, Christians, Catholics, Rastafarians, and of course, secular progressives. There are those who dislike Blacks, Asians, Frenchmen, Arabs, liberal Democrats, and even attorneys. And each of us has a God-given constitutional right to whatever opinions we choose to hold about anyone. And so long as those opinions do not interfere with or encroach on the rights of others that is perfectly all right with me.
As for all those Christian Presidents, that just might have something to do with the fact that a substantial majority of Americans have apparently always considered themselves to be, at least nominally, Christian. I do not, for example, recall that you or anyone else on the self-serving Left has expressed any indignation that such a large percent of Black voters have cast their ballots for Mr. Obama this year. Have you?

So are you saying it is alright to lie about Obama so that the people prejudiced against Muslims will vote against him, even though he is not Muslim?

So are you saying it is alright to lie about Obama so that the people prejudiced against Muslims will vote against him, even though he is not Muslim?
First off, it is not a lie to use his full name. Second off, it is not a lie to show pictures of him wearing tribal robes and so on. Third, it is not a lie that his father was Muslim. Fourth, it is not a lie that he went to a Madrassa in Indonesia as a young child. I do not think this is an overt case of the Clintons saying “Barack is a Muslim”. It is a case of them selectively showing these facts in a way that implies that he is or might be. And you heard it in Hillary saying that he is not a Muslim--that she knows of.
I don’t really much care if Americans associate Muslims with 9-11 subconsciously or of they associate Blacks with Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. The problem here is that the Obama supporters are running around telling people that you cannot be racist or you cannot dislike Muslims or you cannot be prejudiced. They do not have that right. Certainly, I do not condone racism or prejudice, but we all have it in some form. It is the Liberal mentality that they believe that if you vote for Obama because he is black, that is a progressive and intelligent idea, but if you don’t vote for him because he is black, you are a racist idiot.
What we have is a bunch of Democrats debating via actual facts, votes, and elections whether their constituents are a bunch of religious bigots and racists. Republicans are not involved in this. We are standing on the sideline laughing. You have Progressive idealism of “people should only pay attention to Obama’s race or religion if it encourages them to vote for him because that is Progressive” versus the Clinton pragmatism that says “Democrats ain’t all that smart and modern and we can play games that bring out the bigotry of racism and religion to beat Obama”.
So which way do you want to play it? Obama runs around talking about his funny name, but Progressives don’t want people to call him Barack Hussein Obama. Obama runs around stumping about change and his wife talking in generic terms about racism, yet race is off limits. I cannot see how religion isn’t off limits when every other story coming out about Romney was about his Mormon roots, and there were a great many stories that associated him incorrectly with the polygamous roots of the Mormon church. His opponents used fear of Mormonism to rile up Christian Conservative voters (who also happen to be somewhat religiously intolerant).
This just demonstrates Obama’s glass jaw and his inexperience of ever being in a real political race. The Clintons are veterans of this game and Obama is getting an education. Not only is he not ready for the Clinton sleeze machine, he is not ready to answer the phone at 3AM. The real problem is that in the Clinton White House, the phone will be busy because Bill will be on it talking with Congressmen while getting a Blow Job. I wouldn’t trust that son of a bitch around a phone either.
If he cannot stand up to race and religion attacks by the Clintons, is he gonna be tough enough to stand up to Putin, lil’ Kim, and the nutjob in Iran?

BTW, is bigotry against Muslims any worse than bigotry against Jews or Mormons? It is funny, but in 2000, GWB and Karl Rove weren’t out running around sliming Lieberman for being a Jew.
But if Clinton was running, they would be doctoring photos to enlarge his nose and they would be floating stories about anything that would bring out religious bigotry. The Clintons are just like that.

Hawk,
Don’t be so presumptuous!!! If I felt the need to re-phrase my thoughts I would do so myself… and do a far better job of it than you.
Personally, I don’t much care that Senator Barack Hussein Obama carries Muslim name. And as far as I am concerned there are plenty of far more substantive reasons to oppose his candidacy than his purported religious beliefs… whatever those might truly be. It is understandable, however, that people might be more than a bit skeptical of a Muslim candidate given all the violence being perpetrated across the world in the name of Allah.
As for lies about, and by politicians, I stopped worrying about that silliness somewhere around 1960. It hasn’t occurred to me to be concerned since. But I am amused to find those on the Left so indignant after all the lies told about Republicans and the current administration by many of those same Lefties. The irony is breathtaking.

keith ellison is a racist muslim bigot! He is a farrakhan supporter as well as a jew hater. If you listen to the smuggled audio/video tapes of his diatribes against whites, you will see that he should be the LAST person who should be accusing people of race baiting!
Long live the USA and Israel!!

For Obama defenders: Why is being called a Muslim necessarily a “smear?”
