Right. Because we wouldn’t want the little darlings to ever fail at something, and maybe learn something from that failure. Like how to get better and not fail.
No, not necessary. In the real world, if you run your company into bankruptcy, the government is there to bail it out and give you another chance.

I grew up in Johnstown, PA, a steel town approx. 70 miles East of Pittsburgh. Our school graded A, B, C, D, E. And, our classes were separated as A, B, C, D, and E classes. “A” classes being honors classes, “E” classes being screw ups and the really really dumb. This was typical for 7-12 grades. Your placement in 7th grade was based on your score on the 6th grade statewide tests every student in 6th grade had to take. After that, your placement was based on your overall average year to year.
As an “A” class student I benefited from a much advanced level of material and teachers, which was good for me and the approx. 25 other students. I guess it wasn’t so great for C, D, and E students who seemed to get the student teachers and were seldom allowed to go on the field trips or did not have the advantage of experts in various fields visiting the classroom for a day of intense teaching, like we had in the “A” classes.
When I went away to college, I wrote home for my Mom to send my notebooks from 9th and 10th grade literature and history classes, since the material we were covering in similar college freshman and sophomore classes was the same, although not nearly so well presented, nor nearly as difficult as I had to complete in high school.

In Chester County, SC, the lowest allowed was 60% !! The highest failing grade was 67%! That gave a window of 7 points that a student could fail. What a farce.

Many students failed themselves when they simply refused to do any homework, even one 15 minute assignment a month. Many also did not do any classwork, even not putting their names on a piece of paper.
Of course, numerous excuses were put up at the end of the year to “pass them on”. Farce.

May be that is the type of school that Obama and Biden attended , they seem to not know our countries history well at all. We know that the schools have removed the best parts of American history we need to put that back into the schools teaching, “give me liberty or give me death” is no longer mentioned nor is “I regret that I have but one life to give in the defense of my country”, they called it the dumbing down of America 20 years ago , guess what they have succeeded in doing just that .

Maybe it’s the kind of education policy that Obama and Ayers tried to implement in Chicago.
Who the hell cares if kids can simplify fractions of describe a convergent boundary? As long as they can express their outrage at the opressive system that forces fractions and plate tectonics on them they have learned.
