I wonder what their take on the time Jesus Christ comes back with a sword in Revelations… Or how about Romans where it says:
For government is God’s servant to you for good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, because it does not carry the sword for no reason. For government is God’s servant, an avenger that brings wrath on the one who does wrong.
The sword can and should be used for good. They apparently see it only as bad. They can’t distinquish between the swords that rescued them and the swords that captured and was ready to kill them. So it goes.

well, um, what would happen in those days was that governments would used their swords to somehow enlarge welfare programs and provide citizens with socialized medicine.....not make illegal war....so it was okay then.

Given the they’re opposed to the Iraqi intervention I’m not sure what you expect them to say? It would have been nice to hear the thank yous earlier but this really sounds like the making of a mountain to me.

If someone willingly put their life on the line to pull me out of hazards way? Especially after seeing that their friend was executed… I would expect a curteous thank you. Let me clarify… they may still be confused. Say "thank you" to the American troops who pulled you out. Nothing more, nothing less.
To answer Brent. The sword was understood by our founders as their responsibility to secure justice. Every government under the sun has that responsibility. As you can see not many take that ‘divine’ command very seriously.

Lasting peace? What an absurd fantasy. Conflict is the natural state of humanity. Don’t take my word for it. Study all of recorded history.

I don’t think it is too over-the-top for me to point out that these people are refusing to provide intelligence to help us defeat murderous terrorists and that they’re miserable idiots because of it.
I know I’ve done multiple posts now, but after I criticized these people I wanted to be sure to point out that one of them did, in fact, thank the troops and cooperate.
